I doubt I'm capabled, individually, of taking advantage of that but I bet there are more than a few experienced gamers who could out-play the aim assist. Angling is often about maximising armour yes, trying to put stuff like belt/deck armour into play because often in a cruiser or BB your bow can be overmatched, so you need to angle it, it is also about minimising your cross section and making yourself harder to hit even if all your guns are turned and ready to fire it can often be suicidal. In theory those shots will act differently from the target's perspective than most aim-assisted shots. However if someone is shooting at them without the aim assist they will have more control over where the shot lands. Since the funnel/magnet affect exists on any shots aimed at someone they'll be used to seeing them at launch and beginning a dodge. Most players are probably going to be defined as 'skilled' in part on their ability to anticipate shots and angle to avoid them. And if you're aimed at an island, but a ship beyond the island is targeted, the game knows to fire at the more distant target, (hopefully) arcing over the island. So, if you aim high on a ship you have targeted, the game knows to fire at an angle that will hit that point, not some point in the sea beyond. ![]() About the only thing I see it doing is helping with intervening obstacles.
